Knocknagoshel Tidy Towns

In 1993 Knocknagoshel Tidy Towns committee was founded under the leadership and foresight of chairperson Patricia Kirby, with the aim to create a vibrant village that’s an even better place to live, work, and visit.

In 2021 - Pat Kirby retired as Chairperson and Mairead Brosnan was elected as the new chairperson. Under Mairead Brosnan leadership as chairperson, Knocknagoshel Tidy Towns group grew with new members from the community after a very successful Social media campaign.

One of our joint efforts is organising community clean-up events on an on-going basis. We also support enhancement projects such as planting flowers and trees and creating murals that celebrate our local culture and heritage.

Additionally, we support environmental sustainability activities that promote responsible waste management and energy conservation.

Today, our Tidy Towns group is active. While the annual competition is important to us, we prioritise community cohesion and our collectively formed village priorities – these can be found in our “Future of Knocknagoshel” report.
